Services
Projects come in all shapes and sizes, each one with different needs. Depending on your current project status, I use different strategies to polish your work into what you've been envisioning.
My passion lies in working with writers of fantasy and sci fi, literary or speculative fiction, and literary nonfiction projects like memoirs. Join me in shaping your story in your own words and discover just how great they can be. I consider manuscripts from other genres and disciplines like academic books and articles. ConsultationIf you have a manuscript at any stage and are looking for professional feedback about which stage of editing your work needs or if you simply want to learn more and plan your publication journey, then a consultation is a good place to start.
I will read through the manuscript or outline in its current stage and advise the best course of action or we can discover your writing and publication goals and how to reach them. You will receive both written and verbal feedback with a chance to ask any questions you wish. Please note that this service is for feedback, coaching and professional writing advice and would not include structural/developmental editing, sentence-level edit of style/etc., or simple grammar, spelling, omitted words, etc. |

Developmental EditingIf this is your first time writing this type of project, you might be in need of some developmental editing. This type of editing includes structural notes and the tightening and clarification of broad concepts to ensure that your work says just what you want it to say. If you have a finished rough draft and desire continued editorial support throughout the stages of your project, developmental editing will guide your efforts efficiently for as long as it takes.
Please note that this service is for structural and conceptual development and would not include sentence-level edit of style/etc. or simple grammar, spelling, omitted words, etc. |
Line EditingLine editing focuses primarily on the flow and tone of your finished work, cleaning up the language used to convey your ideas clearly. Whether working on your third draft or your twenty-third draft, line edits can help you find the perfect way to say what you mean. Line edits include some minor grammar and punctuation corrections.
Please note this service would not include any large arrangement, form, outline, structural help, any academic/research support, no check of citations, no check of reference pages, no appendices, graphs or charts. |
Copy EditingFor a finished project in need of some final adjustments, copy editing focuses primarily on grammar and punctuation, also working to ensure that your style guide of choice (Chicago, AP, etc.) and citations are correct throughout.
Please note this service would not include any large arrangement, form, outline, or structural help. |
ProofreadingA final check for grammar and punctuation errors, formatting and layout corrections, proofreading is the extra bit of polish on a completed project to really make it shine. This service is available only after copy editing.
Please note that this service would not include sentence-level edit/style/etc. but instead focus on simple grammar, spelling, omitted words, etc. |
